Meanwhile, senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on social media, Lauretta Onochie has described Ibrahim El-Zakzaky as a leader of a terrorist group. The federal government had proscribed the Islamic Movement in Nigeria led by El-Zakzaky, after a federal high court in Abuja declared the group a terrorist organisation. In a Twitter post, Onochie said the leader of the terrorist group has departed the country to India for medical treatment. The African Action Alliance expelled its National Chairman, Omoyele Sowore from the party. The party at its national convention which held in Owerri, the Imo State capital also suspended 28 other members of the party. The party immediately announced Leonard Nzenwa as the new national chairman of the party. Sowore is currently being held by the Department of State Services over RevolutionNow protests. The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Oyo State, Olufemi Lanlehin, has withdrawn from the coalition that helped Seyi Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party to victory at the election in March. Lanlehin announced his withdrawal in a statement to journalists today in Ibadan, the state capital. It was gathered that the politicians had reached an agreement on how the various positions and appointments will be shared in the event of Makinde’s election.
