The national executive council meeting of the All Progressives Congress has been postponed indefinitely. Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, disclosed this to state house correspondents at the end of a meeting that he and his colleagues held with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja. Bagudu, who is chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, said the postponement was at the instance of the governors. The leaders of the party were divided over the meeting. Former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, says Nigeria has nothing to show for all the funds it has been borrowing for years. Obi was reacting to the senate’s approval of the $22.7 billion roan request by President Muhammadu Buhari. A federal high court in Kano has issued an interim order halting the suspension of Adams Oshiomhole as the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress. At its sitting today, the judge, A. Lewis-Allagoa, asked parties involved to “maintain the status quo pending the court’s final decision. The Supreme court has sacked David Lyon less than 24 hours before his inauguration as governor of Bayelsa state.
Lyon, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, was declared the winner of the governorship election in the state in November 2019.
