The national executive council meeting of the All Progressives Congress has been postponed indefinitely.
Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, disclosed this to state house correspondents at the end of a meeting that he and his colleagues held with President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa in Abuja.
Bagudu, who is chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, said the postponement was at the instance of the governors.
The leaders of the party were divided over the meeting. On Sunday, a national leader of the ruling party, Bola Tinubu had described the meeting scheduled for Tuesday as illegal.
Supporters of the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, had said those plotting to oust him were behind the meeting.
Meanwhile, the Court of appeal in Abuja has indefinitely, delayed hearing of an appeal to stay execution on suspension filed by APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole.
Adams who rushed to the court to stop being shut out of a crucial party meeting met with a delay capable of serious consequences on his bid to retain party control.
