Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has presented a budget estimate of 449.974 billion naira for the year 2020 to the State House of Assembly.
He christened the proposal “Budget to Build Our Future Together”.
Abiodun presented the budget at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo, at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan.
He said the annual fiscal estimate reflects his administration’s determination to deliver on its electoral promises to the people.
Abiodun said the government would formulate policy for a holistic actualization of the budget towards localizing the Sustainable Development Goals through public-private partnership initiatives.
He said the government has put in place a mechanism for a workable public financial management system to eliminate leakages and ensure efficient and judicious use of resources.
In his remarks, the Speaker, Oluomo said the foundations being laid in all sectors of the state’s economy by Abiodun’s administration is a pointer to the massive growth and development that residents of the state will witness under the administration.
In another development, the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo says the legislature will not support the Hate Speech bill, which is currently raising dust in the polity.
According to him, the proposed legal framework will gag the press and silence the masses thereby preventing them from amplifying our democratic development.
Oluomo spoke today at floor of house in Abeokuta, while delivering his welcome address during the presentation of 2020 budget by Governor Dapo Abiodun.
