Buhari cancels all e-passport printing contracts abroad, recommends Tanko as substantive Chief Justice of Nigeria

President Muhammadu Buhari has cancelled all e-passport printing contracts abroad, saying it will now be the sole responsibility of the Nigerian Security Printing & Minting Company.

Special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, made this known in a statement in Abuja today.

With the new directive from the president, all existing memoranda of understanding and contracts on printing by other institutions/ companies will not be renewed.

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the senate to confirm Ibrahim Muhammad as the substantive chief justice of Nigeria.

He sent a letter on this request to the upper legislative chamber today. The letter was read by Senate President Ahmed Lawan a day after the National Judicial Council recommended Muhammad for the position.

The president also sought approval to appoint 15 special advisers.

He expressed the hope that the request will receive the usual expeditious consideration of the distinguished Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
